Teagan is HERE!!!

Miss Teagan Ella Hunter finally decided to grace us with her presence on August 25, 2012 at 8:09pm. I was getting a little anxious, since I was almost a week overdue, but she knew what she was doing!  I was scheduled to be induced on Sunday the 26th, so Heath made plans to come back that Friday and stay until the following Friday.  All day on Friday the 24th I was anxiously awaiting his arrival, but I was also not feeling so hot and thought I might have been having contractions but wasn't sure.

After picking up Heath at the airport around 11pm (since his flight got delayed!) I was up all night having contractions.  We headed to the hospital around 7:00am on Saturday, and sure enough, I was in labor! It was a long and tiring day, but Teagan arrived at 8:09pm on Saturday and I am so thankful and feel so blessed that my wonderful husband was able to be there for it all! I couldn't have done it without him.  It is amazing how it all worked out! Teagan really knew what she was doing!

If she would have come any earlier he would have only been able to stay a day or two, but since she came when she did, we were able to go home on Monday, rather than having her on Monday, and Heath got to spend almost a week with us!  Such a blessing. He is a wonderful daddy (like I knew he would be) and so supportive.  It breaks my heart that we had to take him to the airport last Friday and that we can't be together until December, but we will get through this... we just have to be strong! (And visit as much as we can!!!)

 This little girl is amazing and has totally changed our lives.  Being apart wasn't this tough before, and it was something that we were used to, but with her here it makes it so much tougher.  Teagan and I are already anxious to go visit daddy and to have him with us again.

Teagan is such a wonderful blessing and I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on her!  Heath I'm sure felt the same way! She is already growing and changing so much.  What an adventure we are in for!

Not too much going on here to post about, but I figured I should probably write a little bit before Miss Teagan arrives! Today marks 38 weeks and 3 days... and no progress at all according to the doctor! She will come when she is ready, but all I know is that I am ready for her to get here (or as ready as I can be!)

I've been going stir crazy trying to find things to do to keep myself busy! I've been shopping for last minute items, buying adorable clothes for her (not too many though- she already has a TON!), got my hospital bag (and Teagan's) all packed, and as some of you may have seen on Facebook, I've been sewing a TON of things for her, which I will show in a little bit!

I really have no complaints about how my pregnancy has gone so far, no major issues, no morning sickness. I am quite lucky :) Although, it feels like Teagan is trying to break free! I'm starting to get very uncomfortable, but I feel like it could be worse, so I'm not complaining too much, although it would be nice if Heath were around to rub my back :)  That is OK though!

I definitely haven't been afraid to park in these spaces... 

When I was still in Texas people didn't really comment to me about being pregnant or ask many questions, but since coming to Iowa I've had a TON of random people stare at me and ask questions or make comments. I've mainly been getting the comment "Oh, I bet you are MISERABLE in this heat! I can't even imagine!" Yeah...thanks for reminding me that it has been over 100 degrees and humid several days in a row and I'm carrying a giant baby belly around... I almost forgot... :-p.  I even had this lady at Hobby Lobby come up to me and tell me I had a lovely aura around me, she described it to me and talked to me for about 5 minutes. Haha. I found a shirt on Pinterest (where I also spend way too much time) which I thought was funny and would have answered a lot of questions.. other than this lady is having a boy and I am having a girl! Haha.

I honestly can't believe how quickly these last 9 months have flown by! It seems like just yesterday that we found out Teagan was on the way! Here is the progress I have made over these last 38 weeks...

 

I haven't had much to get ready here, other than putting away Teagan's mountain of clothes and getting some things organized. I put her car seat in a few weeks ago and put together her swing and her bouncer, as well as got the pack n' play put up, so I'm ready to go.  

           

Obviously, I don't have a nursery set up for her here, since we are just in Iowa temporarily, but here are a few pictures of her things here. You can guarantee when we get to Germany we will get her lovely Dr. Seuss nursery all set up!!!

I tried my hand at a boppy cover. Sara's mom is making some for me, which I am very thankful for! This was a stressful project but it turned out OK!!! I think I am too much of a perfectionist to make these!

Well, that is what I've been up to lately! Not too much. I'm just looking forward to Teagan's arrival, and hopefully getting to see my husband for a few days!!! I'll update when I can once she gets here!

Farewell Abilene

The last few weeks have been crazy busy with moving and getting things sorted, donated, sold, etc! I'll try and post more now that I'm settled in Iowa! So, this post will be packed full of some highlights from our last few weeks in Abilene.


I attended my last Abilene Runner's Club event on the 22nd, the Summer Solstice run (Heath got to go to the July 4th run). Heath and I ran it last year, so it was very strange not running this year, but we had a blast helping out! It was a 3 or 6 hour run and started at 9pm, so it was a LONG night, but a lot of fun! Heath and I will truly miss our ARC friends and will be forever grateful to them for helping us become stronger runners and helping us complete our first marathon and many half marathons! Our life in Abilene wouldn't have been the same without them! They also had a wonderful baby shower for us! We were truly blessed with some wonderful friends from this great organization!

The day after the Summer Solstice run, my WONDERFUL friends from Reagan had a Dr. Seuss themed baby shower for me. I am truly going to miss all of my wonderful (and talented) teacher friends! It was great to have a group of girls to hang out with! I will miss girls nights and seeing you all every day at Reagan! Thank you for making my time in Abilene so wonderful!

Girls Night!

Those were just some of the exciting things that happened in the weeks before moving. Now I'll get into all of the "fun" details about our move! Since plans to go to Germany came at the last minute, Heath did a lot of work getting things in place for our move and getting us cleared to go overseas- paperwork, running around, etc! Last minute change of plans also meant last minute moving plans, and when it is busy PCS season that means difficulty getting movers, especially with an overseas move. I've never done a move with the military, and the way things were working out really didn't mesh with how I function, so needless to say, I was a LITTLE stressed about all of it, so, I send a big thank you to my wonderful husband for dealing with my crazy over-planning and worrying :)

I was worried that we would have to pack everything ourselves in a short amount of time, and I really just wasn't in the mood to pack! Haha! I was also concerned about getting back to Iowa in case Teagan decided to make an early appearance! After a few hiccups and some wonderful work by the person organizing our move, we were able to get movers while Heath was still in Abilene. Phew! The whole process was stressful, but the first part of it is done! Let's hope our things make it to Germany and are waiting for us when we get there!

I missed all of the moving "fun" because I headed back to Iowa a few days before the 4th of July so I could get to my doctors appointments (which I of course set up SEVERAL weeks ago) and make sure I'm all settled before Teagan comes. It was tough to leave Heath, especially since he had to deal with all of the movers and such on his own, but I will see him when Teagan is born (hopefully), and Teagan and I will try and visit him while he is there. Before we know it December will be here and it will be time to go to Germany! We have so many adventures ahead of us.

I spent the 4th of July in Milo and got to spend some quality time with Charlie and Coconut! :)

Today, Heath headed to Vegas to start weapons school and said one last goodbye to the rental house on Cinderella!

Farewell to Abilene and to all of the wonderful friends we made while we were there. Thank you to everyone who made our time there so special!
